Excessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis. Sweating is completely natural, and is the body’s way of keeping itself cool. However, sometimes the body produces excessive amounts of sweat, causing discomfort and embarrassment
As with all treatments at Skinfinity, you will only ever be seen by our highly trained clinicians.
Nerve endings in the sweat glands cause them to produce excessive amounts of sweat, particularly in the armpits. Sufferers have often tried numerous anti-perspirants with limited benefit.
Injecting into the skin of the armpits blocks the action of the nerves telling the glands to produce excessive amounts of sweat. As the drug takes effect over 10-14 days, production of sweat decreases. The process can also be used on the hands and feet.

The amount of sweat you produce will be significantly less once the injections have taken effect. This means you will be free to wear the clothes you love without worrying about damp armpits.
As with any injectable procedure, there are some potential side effects, though they are typically mild and temporary. You may experience slight redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites, which usually resolve within a couple of days. In rarer cases, side effects can include temporary muscle weakness—particularly if the hands are treated—headache, or mild flu-like symptoms. Compensatory sweating in other areas is also possible, but uncommon. Serious reactions are extremely rare, especially when treatment is carried out by an experienced medical professional. At Skinfinity, your safety is always our priority, and we take every measure to ensure your treatment is both comfortable and carefully tailored to you.
Immediately after your hyperhidrosis treatment at Skinfinity, you can expect minimal downtime. The treated area—whether it's underarms, hands, or feet—may feel slightly tender, red, or swollen, and you might notice small bumps at the injection sites, which usually settle within a few hours. Occasionally, mild bruising or a slight ache can occur, but this is temporary.
Most clients return to normal activities straight away, although we recommend avoiding vigorous exercise, saunas, hot baths, and applying deodorant or lotions to the treated area for 24 hours to allow the product to settle properly. You’ll start to notice a reduction in sweating within a few days, with full effects developing in about 1 to 2 weeks. We’ll check in with you if needed to ensure everything is progressing as expected.
The results of hyperhidrosis treatment using Botox typically last around 4 to 6 months, though some clients may enjoy results lasting up to 9 months, especially with repeat treatments. You’ll usually start noticing a reduction in sweating within 2 to 7 days, with full effects seen by around 2 weeks post-treatment.
As the nerves gradually regain activity, sweating will return slowly, and we’ll guide you on the ideal time for a top-up to maintain comfort and confidence year-round. With consistent treatment, some clients even find that their sweating reduces overall over time.
Yes, hyperhidrosis treatment—typically using Botulinum toxin (Botox)—is considered safe and effective when carried out by an experienced medical professional, like the team at Skinfinity. This treatment works by temporarily blocking the nerves that trigger excessive sweating, and it’s commonly used for underarms, hands, feet, and sometimes the face.
Most clients find the injections to be very tolerable with minimal discomfort. The treatment involves using a fine needle and takes just a few minutes—many describe the sensation as a quick scratch or tiny pinch. If you're particularly sensitive or nervous, we can apply a numbing cream beforehand to make you more comfortable.
Treatment takes approximately 45 minutes.
